1. NO PURCHASE NECESSARY. Sweepstakes is sponsored by the Baltimore Sun Company (“Sponsor” or “Baltimore Sun”), 501 N. Calvert Street, P.O. Box 1377, Baltimore, Maryland 21278. The sweepstakes will begin on October 29, 2009 at 12:00 p.m. ET and end on November 9, 2009 at 12:00 p.m. ET. The geographical scope of this sweepstakes is MD, PA, DE, VA, WV and Washington, DC.

2. Sweepstakes void where prohibited or restricted by law. By entering this sweepstakes, all entrants agree to these rules and to the decisions of the Sponsor, which are final in all respects.

3. Entrants must be 21 years or older and legal U.S. residents of MD, PA, DE, VA, WV or Washington, DC at the time of entry. Employees and immediate family members of employees of the Baltimore Sun Company, the Tribune Company, Irish Charities of Maryland, Inc., and their affiliates are not eligible to enter or win. "Immediate family" includes only spouses, parents, siblings and children.

4. Entries will be accepted starting on October 29, 2009 at 12:00 p.m. ET and ending on November 9, 2009 at 12:00 p.m. ET. To enter, visit baltimoresun.com and complete and submit the online entry form. Limit one entry per person, per household and per computer. Subsequent entries from the same computer or using same e-mail address will be rejected. If any dispute arises concerning the identity of an entrant, the owner of the e-mail account from which the entry was sent shall be deemed the entrant. All submissions become the property of the Sponsor and will not be returned.

5. By entering, each entrant agrees that if selected as the winner, he/she and his/her guests may be required to sign a release and waiver of liability. The prize may be forfeited and awarded to an alternate winner if the winner and his/her guests do not execute the prepared form of release and waiver within the stated time frame required by Sponsor, or if the selected winner is not eligible in accordance with these rules.

6. Prize (4): Each prize consists of (1) four-pack of tickets for daily (single-day) general admission to the 2009 Irish Festival on November 13, 14, or 15, 2009 at the Maryland State Fairgrounds (cow palace), 2200 York Road, Timonium, Maryland 21093. Approximate Retail Value of each prize: $40.00. Odds of winning depend upon the number of entries received.

7. All details of prize shall be at the Baltimore Sun’s sole discretion. No other items or services except for those expressly included above as part of prize description in these rules will be awarded. Event tickets are is subject to any additional rules and restrictions imposed by event venue. Winner is solely responsible for all taxes, fees, and expenses associated with this sweepstakes and redemption or use of prize, including travel expenses, transportation, hotel accommodations, souvenirs, parking, beverages, meals, tips or other charges of any kind. Prizes are non-transferable. No prize substitutions will be permitted except that Sponsor reserves the right to award an alternate prize of equal or greater value if it deems necessary.

8. Four (4) entries will be chosen by random drawing on or about November 9, 2009 or within a reasonable time thereafter. Subject to verification of eligibility, the persons whose entries are so drawn will be declared the winners. Potential winners will be notified by a Baltimore Sun representative via phone and/or email in accordance with the information on their entry forms. If the Baltimore Sun representative is unable to speak directly to a potential winner by 5 p.m. one business day following the day contact is first attempted, that potential winner will be disqualified and forfeit all rights to the prize, and an alternate winner will be chosen by random drawing. Alternate winners are subject to all eligibility requirements of these rules. The Baltimore Sun will conduct only (1) alternate drawing per prize. In the event that the Baltimore Sun is unable to verify an eligible winner after one (1) alternate drawing, that prize will not be awarded.

9. Winners may be asked to pick up prize at the offices of the Baltimore Sun, 501 N. Calvert St. between the hours of 10am and 4 pm, Monday-Friday. If unable to do so, alternate arrangements may be made in some instances depending on event date, prize size and value.

10. By accepting a prize, all winners hereby grant the Baltimore Sun Company and its agents permission, without further compensation, to use their names, likenesses, photographs, film, voice recordings and images for promotional purposes, if and to the extent allowed by law, including on the Baltimore Sun’s website. By entering, entrants and winners agree to release the sweepstakes Sponsors and prize suppliers from any and all claims, liability, damages, losses or injuries of any kind arising out of their acceptance/possession and/or use/misuse of the prizes and/or their participation in the sweepstakes.

11. The Baltimore Sun reserves the right to correct typographical or clerical errors in any sweepstakes-related materials. No more than the stated number of prizes will be awarded. In the event that production, technical, seeding, programming or any other reasons cause more than the stated number of prizes as set forth in these Official Rules to be available and/or claimed, the Baltimore Sun reserves the right to award only the stated number of prizes by a random drawing from among all legitimate, un-awarded, eligible prize claims.

12. The Baltimore Sun is not responsible for entries that are lost, misdirected, or mutilated. Entries are void if incomplete, not legible, or if they contain errors. If for any reason the on-line entry is not capable of running as planned, including infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures, other causes beyond the control of the Baltimore Sun that corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of the sweepstakes, the Baltimore Sun reserves the right to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the sweepstakes, in which event the Baltimore Sun will select the winner by conducting a random drawing from among all non-suspect entries received at the time of the Sweepstakes cancellation, termination or suspension. The Baltimore Sun reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify any individual who tampers with the entry process.

13. No responsibility is assumed for: any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line failure; theft or destruction or unauthorized access to, or alteration of, entries; any problems or technical malfunctions of any telephone network or lines, computer online systems, servers, or providers, computer equipment, hardware, or software; failure of any e-mail or electronic entry to be received on account of technical problems or traffic congestion on the internet or at any website; or any combination thereof, including any injury or damage to entrant's or any other person's computer related to or resulting from participation in or downloading any materials from this sweepstakes.
