Q: What is different about the baltimoresun.com website?
A: The site now has a more streamlined design, improved technology, and additional features. With these improvements, you will be able to:
- Navigate the site more easily
- Search quicker and more accurately
- Find and play streaming video
- Recommend stories
- Comment on stories directly and immediately
- Share photos and video with us and other readers
- Get up–to–the–minute news and information around the clock
Q: Where can I find breaking news?
A: All headlines will have date and time stamps so you can immediately identify breaking news. For major breaking stories, there will be information on the top of the home page and/or section fronts.
Q: When I clicked on "more news on the web" it took me to another website?
A: Our partnership with Topix allows for even more updates on news and stories throughout our market. Also, when you're on Topix, you can search classifieds and join forum discussions.
Q: How do I search for non–traditional classifieds (parking spots, foreclosures, etc.)?
A: Click on the "Classifieds" link on the left navigation.
Q: When I click on the top tabs, why don't I go to the section?
A: When you click on a tab, you are still on the home page. You are looking at the top stories from across the site. You can get to the relevant section by clicking on the "Go to XXX section" link at the bottom of each tab or clicking the appropriate link in the left navigation bar.
Q: Do I have to register to use some of these new features?
A: Some of the new features such as commenting on stories, and sharing audio and video will require registration. Otherwise, registration requirements are the same as they were: today's stories are open to everyone, stories published less than 2 weeks ago are free to registered users, and stories published more than 2 weeks ago are available for a fee. To register, go to: baltimoresun.com/register.
Q: If I'm already registered, do I need to re-register?
A: No, if you are currently a registered user you will continue to be a registered user for the site. There is no need to take any further action.
Q: Are the same types of news and information still available?
A: Yes. We have not changed the categories or kinds of information we offer, just made it easier for you to find it.
Q: Will I continue to receive the e-Newsletters for which I am signed up?
A: Yes, the e–Newsletters will not change. You will continue to receive any e-newsletters you were receiving before July 17. You may notice slight changes to the design of the newsletter, but the theme and content will not change. To see what e–newsletters are available or to change the ones for which you are registered, go to: baltimoresun.com/newsletters.
Q: How do I subscribe to The Sun or manage my existing subscription?
A: All of the information is available at our customer support page.
Q: How can I provide feedback?
