EDITOR'S PICK

Mark: baltimoremetromix.com picks

Thursday night, I would love to see Caleb Stine and the Brakeman at Metro Gallery. My attendance, though, depends on silly intrusions into my social life like school. Silly school.

I'm not into much Friday night, which might encourage me to go out Thursday. (Seems like a fair trade, right?) A bookish outing to learn about "Hos, Hookers, Call Girls and Rent Boys" has a certain appeal.

Saturday night, some friends and I are registered for the Lindy 500 Scavenger Hunt. I'm not exactly sure how this happened, but I'm actually pretty excited. It's a long, chauffeured drive through the city and only our wits (and ridiculous attire) to advance us to the winner's circle.

Sunday, I might wander into the woods briefly before football, just to stretch my legs a little. I'm feeling cooped up already, and it's not even winter.

Thursday night there's a happy hour reunion of sorts at Bill Bateman's Bistro in Towson. It would be nice to catch up with some familiar faces so I'm going to try to make it. Plus, I never met a crab pretzel I didn't like.

Friday, I promised a friend I'd join him for an art reception on CCBC Catonsville. I think it's a photography exhibit, but I'm not positive. Anyway, I hope to convince him to go out afterward. Though I'm not up on my Catonsville, I'm sure we can find something in the area to occupy a few hours. Otherwise, we might head to Mobtown Theater for the "Rocky Horror Show" at midnight.

Saturday, I'd like to check out The Killers' "Live at the Royal Albert Hall" at the Senator Theatre. It includes performances of some of my favorite songs like "Somebody Told Me," "When You Were Young" and "Human." Maybe I'll even have a drink at Crush or Grand Cru first.

Sunday, it's football day again, naturally, but I'm looking for a new scene. Anyone have any good, low-key suggestions for where I should go watch the Ravens beat the Bengals? Then again, those leaves aren't going to rake themselves.
