During its time in Maryland, Ethan Allen has maintained a commitment to give back to the local community. Some of the organizations receiving support include Race for the Cure, the Baltimore County Public Library, St. Joseph Medical Center Foundation, Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation International and Hospice of Howard County.
Race for the Cure
Every year for the past 10 years Ethan Allen donates 3 chairs that care to three different hospitals in the Baltimore metro area. Those chairs are first taken to the survivor tent at the annual Race for the Cure to be signed by survivors. People waiting for their treatments hopefully see the chairs and gives them hope that they will be able to sign the chairs at the next annual race for the cure.
Christmas Gingerbread Contest
We allowed local schools to come into the stores and build ginger bread house over the christmas holiday season. Customers that come through the stores vote and the first second and third place houses win the following: First Place: $2,000 Gift card; Second Place: $1,000 Gift Card; Third Place: $500 gift card.
