James E. Wood Jr., M.D., a board-certified orthopedic surgeon, serves as Harbor Hospital's chief of orthopedics. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Morgan State University and graduated Doctor of Medicine with High Honors from the University of California, Irvine. He completed his residency in orthopedic surgery at the University of California, San Francisco, working with the Los Angeles Lakers, Dodgers, Angels, Rams and Kings. Dr. Wood's 25 years of experience in total joint replacement and arthroscopic diagnosis and repair of peripheral joints helps patients achieve maximum results through minimal intervention. He has extensive experience with the latest techniques in joint replacement including gender knee and partial knee replacements.
