Kathryn O'Neill is a certified special educator with more than 8 years of experience working with children with developmental differences. Kathryn began her career as an educator at one of the nation's leading programs for children with special needs: The Kennedy Krieger School in Baltimore, Maryland working primarily with students on the Autism Spectrum.
In 2007, she was selected to be part of a small team of skilled and energetic professionals with a vision for the future of special education who developed and launched the Kennedy Krieger School in Montgomery County. This school has since been highly successful, not only attracting a variety of students but creating positive outcomes for those students despite a wide array of academic and behavioral profiles.
As Kathryn has continued in her career, as well as working with children on the Autism Spectrum, she has also worked with children with ADHD, ADD, Down Syndrome, Specific Learning Disabilities, and Intellectual Disabilities.
Throughout her years as a special educator, Kathryn has gained experience and advanced training with a variety of assessment and treatment approaches including but not limited to TEACCH, Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), discrete trial, Positive Behavior Supports (PBS), executive functioning training, incidental learning, augmentative communication, picture exchange communication, community based life skills instruction and vocational training.
As founder of Creative Behavioral and Educational Solutions, LLC, Kathryn recognized that even with the most wonderful school placement, many children still need more support. CBES strives to provide comprehensive individualized services for children and their families based on each child's unique needs.
